Louisville new construction is still working to get out of the basement, so to speak. Here at Louisville Homes Blog, we’ve been talking about how new construction has been improving but honestly, there was no where to go but up!
Over on Insider, I wrote that 2010-12 saw very few new construction permits being pulled. This year’s count is sure to surpass 2012.
I feel it’s safe to say that 2013 has been better than last year.
It makes sense to see the Home Builders Association of Louisville (HBAL) promote new construction at every opportunity. Here’s a recent press release talking about the benefits of buying a 2014 Homearama home which is still 6 months off.
Buyers who choose to make their next home a Homearama home can receive the benefits of substantial upgrades to rooms such as bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and entertainment spaces, at a fraction of the cost! One can literally save $10,000 to $80,000 by building a Homearama home versus building the same home with the high-end finishes outside of the home showcase event.
It’s been my experience that Louisville home buyers do get a bigger bang for their buck when it comes to purchasing one of these showcase properties due to the material donations.
The Homearama event next summer will be held on July 12-27, again in the Shakes Run development. Here’s a clip from Louisville’s Best New Homes speaking with Stacye Love about her entry from the 2010 event.
Like with most things in this life, there are pros and cons with new construction. If you have any questions, as always, I’m happy to help!
