On the whole, a very positive September for real estate in Louisville, KY. Most areas saw improved sales while home values took major drops in some areas, like the National average, but a few, most notably the Oldham County areas, continue to improve home prices as well.

Monthly Reports: Period Ending September 2011
Area 2 saw a BIG jump in home sales and a modest gain in values that continues an upward trend for the last few months.
For the fourth straight month, Area 3 home sales beat the previous year which is something no other area in Jefferson County can claim. Home values did take a fairly significant drop, which is often the case when volume is high.
September was the 2nd good month for Area 6 home sales but home values continue to decline, with this past month being the worst in the past year.
Activity has been better for Area 7 after some struggling months but home prices are still moving lower.
Like many of the other areas in this market report for Louisville KY real estate, Area 8 experienced an increase in home sales while home prices have moved lower.
Like August, September saw home sales basically match 2010 levels while values trended upward.
Real estate in Oldham County has experienced some positive results lately. Area 20 saw sales improve and prices still are on the upward tact.
Like Area 20, Area 21 had a good September in both home sales and home values, this while most of the country, including Louisville, is seeing home prices drop about 3% for the year.
